SPRING CLEANING WITH A FRESH NEW LOOK

I HAVE BEEN SO BUSY WITH CLEANING AND GIVING THINGS A FRESH NEW LOOK I AM TRYING TO USE MORE VINTAGE ITEMS IN MY DECORATING ! I LOVE SOFTLY WORN ITEMS WITH THAT WONDERFUL OLD PATINA ! I POSTED OUR CHANGES IN OUR BATHROOM NOW HERE ARE SOME OF OUR BEDROOM ! I PURCHASED NEW BEDDING AT TARGET , I REALLY WANTED A SOFTER LOOK GOING WITH A NEUTRAL COLOR PALLET MIXING WHITES , CREAMS , TANS AND SOME SOFT GRAYS ! WOULD LOVE SOME FEED BACK I AM TRYING TO DECIDED IF I SHOULD GIVE MY BEDROOM SUITE A COAT OF BRIGHT WHITE PAINT THEN DO SOME SANDING TO GIVE IT THAT DISTRESSED LOOK ?
THE BEDROOM SUITE BELONGED TO MY GREAT GRANDMA AND I LOVE IT BUT I KEEP THINKING IT WOULD LOOK GREAT WHITE ?
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LOOKING !

  1. I am not a huge fan of painting...OLD furniture but I know that I am in the minority.

I love the color of the pieces and if it were me...I would leave it and then mix in with other light pieces.

I have shown my furniture before and it is only about 15 years old....it is an Antique reproduction and most everyone said I should paint it..but I do not have the heart to do it.

Good luck whatever you decide to do :)

  2. Good morning Janet! I am just sitting here watching American Pickers and looking at all your lovely photos of your bedroom makeover! Such a plethora of vintage treasures!

Your bedding is gorgeous! I have that same black and cream damask pillow!

In regards to painting the furniture....I am torn! Just because it's heirloom pieces. My first reaction is PAINT IT! I know how much you love white, and I think you would love it painted. But the fact that it is heirloom furniture makes me hesitate. Oh geez, I'm not much help am I?

Happy Thursday Janet! Hope to see you soon!

    Hugs,

    Pols
