French Velvet Chair, Lace Vintage bedspread,French carved bed

This past week has been one of those rare buying trips where I have found items that make me weak in the knees ! I not only found one item but 3 YIPPEE !!!!!!
First I came across this FAB French blue velvet chair I am sure it came from a grand estate (oh the stories it could tell of the rich & famous that must have sat on its lush velvet seat)!! It makes my heart skip a beat with its beauty !
Then I found this wonderful carved bed in the perfect creamy paint but I think the best of the 3 is a rare find a vintage lace ruffed bedspread ! The lace is so soft and the details are amazing it looks like a wedding dress made for a bed ! It's large ruffed skirt flows with grace & beauty ! I put this at No.1 of my best finds !

some new finds and a make do garden chandiler - wind chime

Some great new finds over the weekend making their way to the WHITE COTTAGE!
A wonderful vintage fireplace mantle we dressed her with a fresh coat of bright white paint ! I love old frames this one made into a chalkboard looks cute above the mantel !
A sweet cottage style coffee table with a rope detail great for a beach cottage !
Some wonderful old large jars filled with shells and embellished with a old lock & key and very cool rope candle holders !

Something new I am making a make do garden chandler - wind chime made with old crystal prisms, french ribbon & lace and a touch of pearls ! They look great hanging from a tree or on a porch they also look good grouped together over a farm table !

Stay cool in the 90's everyday this week for us in Ohio !

5 DAYS AND COUNTING

WOW I can not believe it is just 5 days until the WHITE COTTAGE GRAND OPEN HOUSE !!
My garage is full the barn is full and I have piles inside priced and ready to go!

Today was a huge day of buying we found some great things , I am so very excited !

KIM is an amazing lady who is well known for her many artistic talents !!
We think this FUN collaboration of talents will create a unique, eclectic shopping experience !
We have been so inspired by all the kind people who have told us that they MISS THE old " WHITE COTTAGE " ! We look forward to seeing our dear customer-friends !

Hello Dear Blogging Friends - Some exciting news & Please say a prayer

Good morning Dear Blogging Friends !
I am back I had to take a break from blogging due to so many things going on !
I hope this finds all of you well !
First PLEASE join me in PRAYER for all the people in Japan due to the terrible earthquake and the tsunami that has hit there and for my uncle that lives on Maui and all the others who live in Hawaii that may get hit by a tsunami! We talked with my uncle at 5:30 our time and he is on high ground ! So very scary !
I will be doing a post this weekend about some exciting news and my first GIVE AWAY !

RUN AWAY DESK ! HAS THIS EVER HAPPEN TO YOU ?

A FUNNY LITTLE STORY !
THIS PAST SUNDAY WHILE TAKING THINGS TO RESET MY BOOTH AT HERITAGE SQUARE ANTIQUE MALL WE HAD A LITTLE THING HAPPEN !
WE PACKED MY SUV FULL AND MY HUBBYS TRUCK FULL EVERYTHING STRAPPED DOWN ( SO WE THOUGHT ) I TOOK THE BACK ROADS WHILE THE HUBBY TOOK THE FREEWAY ( I TOLD HIM NOT TO BUT, MEN ,HE DID NOT LISTEN !!!! )
WHILE GOING ABOUT 65 OR 70 DOWN THE FREEWAY HIS TAILGATE FLEW OPEN AND OUT CAME A SWEET FRENCH STYLE DESK ! MY HUBBY SAW IT GO SO HE PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BUT THE DESK ON ITS TOP WENT FLYING PAST HIM SO HE HAD TO GO TO TRY TO CATCH UP WITH IT !!!!!!!! WHILE HE WAS TELLING ME THIS ON THE PHONE I COULD NOT HELP BUT LAUGH JUST THE PICTURE OF THE DESK FLING PAST HIM ON THE FREEWAY :o
IT DID NOT HURT THE DESK JUST A FEW LITTLE MARKS BUT THAT JUST ADDS TO ITS VINTAGE LOOK !
HAS ANYTHING LIKE THAT EVER HAPPENED TO YOU ?
I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR STORY !!
